When I first stumbled upon this picture of this beautiful dried orange garland, I knew I needed to make it. I love the look of citrus all year but it feels especially fun and slightly unexpected as holiday decor!
What You’ll Need:
Bag of Oranges
Parchment Paper (or foil but parchment works better)
Cookie Sheet
String
Yarn Needle
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees.
Slice oranges using a serrated knife to about 1/4 inch thick. The key here is to use a serrated knife and try to keep the slices similar thickness.
Dry the slices using paper towels, then place onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
Place in the oven for 2-3 hours, checking every 30 minutes. Each time you check, flip the slices over so they dry evenly.
Once the slices are mostly transparent, but before they get too dark, remove them from the oven.
Place onto baking racks to cool.
Using string and a yarn needle, thread the slices onto the string. You can also make the oranges into ornaments by using smaller pieces of string.
I hope you enjoy this little DIY and easy decoration! If you make it be sure to send me a picture or tag me over on instagram! You can see more about our house and other details here.
