Last weekend Max and I got married… AGAIN! Because of covid, we had to postpone our church wedding so we choose to have an intimate wedding at our catholic church. We got legally married last year (April 4, 2020!) and hope to have a larger outdoor celebration later this spring with all our family and friends so this was so we could get married within our church!
All that to say, I choose to lean into it and come up with a fun outfit and even hired one of my friends and a pro photographer, Megan Bennett, to shoot some photos! We did a bunch of film photos and then some digital ones with our families.
First things first, the dress! I actually got this dress originally for my engagement party but I loved it so much I decided to wear it for this too! Its from the brand City Chic and I’ve been pretty happy with all the pieces I’ve gotten from that line. This dress was really comfortable and the sleeves had a piece of elastic in them that made them stay up. I also tried this dress and loved them – they were just too similar so I decided to go with the one I already had! This is another gorgeous option.
I was going for a winter vintage vibe so I added a faux fur wrap. I looked EVERYWHERE for a good wrap and this one from BHLDN was my favorite. It’s super soft and has a really pretty look to it.
For shoes, my mom gifted me the Molly beaded flats from Betsey Johnson to wear. I absolutely love them and might end up wearing them again for our reception wedding. They are so pretty I just want them to display them on a shelf in our house somewhere!
I used a gold hair clip that was my mom’s but I found some similar options here and here. I wore pearl earrings and an heirloom pearl necklace – here are some similar options! I did my own hair using this curling iron and wore my favorite dark pink lip stain!
I hope this inspired you if you’re having an intimate wedding or event! I’m so glad I spent time finding an outfit that helped me feel really confident and enjoy such a special day.
